I really want to lose weight fast

without comments

So you’re probably asking yourself what I’m up to suddenly talking about how to lose weight fast. Well, a few days ago I had a rare opportunity to climb two flights of stairs, and it did not end well. By the time I reached the top, I was sweating profusely, wheezing, my face was red, and I felt terrible. I had to get myself into the bathroom to splash some cold water on my cheeks, and looked up into the mirror, and then it hit me: I needed to lose weight fast.

In some ways, I actually feel like I’m becoming my father. He was an enormously fat guy, with a wonderful sense of humor and a devout, family focused approach to life. But boy, he was big. And nowadays I’m growing fat as well. Don’t get me wrong, I love my pops, but I really really really would like to keep myself from topping 350 pounds. Because once you get that far along, there’s really just no going back.

So I’ve been researching how to lose weight fast. My wife has agreed to do this with me, saying that she would also like to lose some weight, which I think will make it quite a bit easier to stick to whatever diet plan we end up with. There’s a huge amount of opinions on weight loss out there.

I’ll keep you guys up to date on how good the plan to lose weight goes for us. I realize weight loss isn’t going to be easy, but it’s what has to happen as far as I’m concerned, so I’m really going to be trying hard to understand how to lose weight fast.

Favorite Ideals for Baby Shower Favors

without comments

Just about anything you can think of can become baby shower favors. The elaborate centerpiece could be raffled off when the party is over, or you could simply give each guest item marked with the date of the party when the shower is over. The favor will be a lasting reminder of that special day regardless of the type of favor chosen.

Baby shower favors are described as thoughtful small gifts that are given to the guests to serve as a thank you for coming to the shower. You can also use baby shower favors as prizes if baby shower games are planned. At times baby shower favors are integrated with the party theme although it is not necessary to do so. It is up to the hostess to decide.

Budget may be a factor when choosing baby shower favors, since the hostess is the one footing the bill. You might want to consider to have a group act as hostess to share the expense. Delegate tasks such as the items that need to be bought and the baby shower games that need to be planned. One person could be responsible for tracking down decorations, another could be responsible for buying the baby shower favors and so on. Baby shower favors can pull double duty by using them as part the baby shower decorations.

You can use assorted candies to fill baby bottles, which make great balloon weights. They also make a great baby shower centerpiece for tables. After the party, guests can take the candy home and leave the bottles for the mother-to-be. Of course if the mother plans to breast-feed the child, another type of weight should be chosen, such as a small pack of diapers. You can always use each type of decorations for smaller tables and use a large baby shower centerpiece for the main table if you prefer.

Baby shower favor choices are endless it is best to categorize them into four main groups: personalized, decorative, edible and pampering. Baby pacifier lollipops, baby socks filled with candy or baby feet gummies are all examples of edible favors. Items that can be engraved or event group photos of the guests such as a group shot enclosed in a picture frame are personalized baby shower favors. Scented soaps, votive candles or candles shaped like bunnies, baby booties or baby bottles are decorative favors. Any of the above items will serve well as baby shower decorations also.

You should wait until the end of the party to hand out the baby shower centerpiece or other decorations if they double as decorations for the party. It is not imperative to have baby shower favors by any means, but they make a nice reminder for the guests when the party is over. Baby shower favors can leave a smile on everybody’s face, and everyone likes to leave the party with a little something to remember it by.

Welcome to Hong Kong

without comments

Hong Kong greets visitors from all over the world with a smile. The urban embodiment of the balancing act between Chinese and European cultures, Hong Kong has long been one of the most vibrant business centres on earth.

Few travel to Hong Kong for the sights; they come for business and excitement. Hong Kong is so lively it sizzles like the oil in the woks of its ubiquitous street vendors. Little has changed since the 1997 return of the British colony of Hong Kong to China. The city that flourished through co-operation between the Chinese and British societies is, if anything, more fascinating and interesting than ever before.

Opium highs and lows

In the early eighteenth century, the original British traders to arrive at what would be Hong Kong, found only a few fishing villages. The region had no importance at all within the Chinese Empire and had been ignored for centuries.

The British built a trade port here in 1711, and it thrived during the early nineteenth century when goods from China were in fashion in Europe.

As the fashion for things Chinese declined the British began to deal in opium instead, growing it in India and importing it illegally into China, where the Qing dynasty emperor had banned its sale. When the Chinese tried to halt the imports, the British responded with military force.

The resulting Opium Wars (1838-1856) were disastrous for China. In 1842, the British took control of the city of Hong Kong and it became a British colony. A 1898 pact with China made Hong Kong and 234 nearby islands a British protectorate for ninety-nine years. The treaty expired in 1997.

Negotiations took place in 1982 to modify the original agreement in order to protect Hong Kong’s special status. China had originally demanded control not only of the so-called “New Territories” around the city, but also of Hong Kong itself. Through a series of agreements and negotiations, Great Britain was able to prevent Hong Kong from being directly absorbed into mainland China. Instead, on 1 July 1997, Hong Kong was declared a Chinese Special Administrative Region.

Skyscrapers and feng shui

Hong Kong’s special status has allowed it to remain a modern economic city. Despite its visible modernity, traditional ways of life are never far beneath the surface. The ancient Chinese art of feng shui is still applied to new constructions, where measurements are configured according to lucky numbers and windows positioned so as to let prosperity in and bad luck out.

Skyscrapers loom where splendid colonial buildings once stood, only a few of which have remained. In the central district, the Cathedral of St. John, the former French Residence and the Legislative Council Building are among the few traditional buildings that remain.

Omnipresent Buddha

Traditional life has a strong influence in the New Territories than in the city itself. Beautiful temple complexes abound, built in traditional style in tranquil settings. 10,000 Buddhas Monastery is one of the most visited. This number represents “very many” or “countless” in Chinese, rather than a specific number of Buddhas.

In fact, there are more than 10,000, perhaps as many as 13,000. The enormous bronze Buddha towering above Lo Pin Monastery on the island of Lantau is the largest Buddha in the world, measuring 26 metres tall. Visitors can climb a steep path of 260 steps to reach it. The panoramic view from the top definitely rewards the effort, as does the spiritual enlightenment achieved along the way.

Bureau expenses can be cut down by using interoperable printer cartridges

without comments

There is a specifically good supplier of compatible toner cartridges. In my office I have been using for seveal years the ink cartridges and printer accessories of Druckerzubehoer and I am very excited about this great vendor. For everybody who wants to buy compatible printer cartridges and printer equipment, Druckerzubehoer is a very good address. This printer equipment shop has several million shoppers in Germany and offers in my opinion a brilliant cost/performance ratio. Honestly, I can hardly understand how a dispatcher of colorcartridges is able to sell their goods as low priced as they do. I have a Canon Pixma ink printer and save about 90% of the ink costs, because I can buy those printer items and compatible printer cartridges.

You can find a review about this German vendor of compatible printer cartridges here: Kompatible Druckerpatronen Lexmark. I am very happy with the quality of the ink. My printer has been working well for years with those cartridges. Moreover, you do not get black fingers when trying to refill cartridges by yourself. Buying your interoperable printer cartridges from this dispatcher offers you some nice advantages:

The price-performance ratio of Druckerzubehoer is unbeatable in my eyes. For many years I have been ordering the ink cartridges for my office supplies there and during this period have been saving a lot of money for expensive original cartridges. In addition to ink cartridges for all popular inkjet printers there can be found very cheap toner cartridges for laser printers too at this excellent suppliers online shop. Druckerzubehoer upon request informs the purchaser regularly via e-mail about low offers and discounts for printer ink. Often I am amazed that the already very low rates temporarily are reduced once more. The online shop is very convenient. You can easily register as a client and place your ink cartridge orders. My experiences with Druckerzubehoer are very positive and I will continue being delivered with my printer cartridges from them.

I can even order small amounts of toner cartridges and get them quickly and at a opportune price. At these favorable prices there is no need to order many items at once. You better place orders just in time when you are in need of spare ink having in mind that the ink carries an expiration date. Additionally, I can order cleaning cartridges for the various chambers of my printer from this great vendor. In addition to ink cartridges for the printer you can also find very favorable articles such as photo paper. Another report on affordable interoperable ink cartridges can be found here: kompatible Druckerpatronen Lexmark. Druckerzuboer has gained many test victories for their compatible ink cartridges. The company is e.g. 10 times winner in the German computer magazine “computerbild” 11/07. There is a huge range of printer cartridges for all popular printer brands – such as Epson, Canon, Brother, HP, Lexmark and many others. So everybody finds the right toner for their special printer model.

Lighting Ideas For Your Kitchen

without comments

Since the kitchen is used for many purposes, such as dining, cooking, and often as a family meeting room, the lighting you use should be versatile to meet each of these needs.

When it comes to the lighting in your home, the kitchen is one room that you need to pay close attention to. That’s why you should take a look at new bathroom lighting fixtures or new kitchen track lighting as a way to enhance its features.

Recessed lighting can serve this function in a way that doesn’t take away from the overall decor of the room. But there are some things you need to take into account before installing them.

As the name indicates, kitchen recessed lighting means that the lighting fixtures are recessed into the wall or ceiling, which makes it less obtrusive than other types of lighting, such a chandelier which hangs down from the ceiling and can take away from the beauty of the room. There are three parts to the lighting system, the housing, the trim, and the lamp.

The trim is probably the most important, because it will go a long way in determining the brightness and focus of the light that is produced. You also need to take into the account that because this type of lighting requires the use of hidden wires, there is some work involved when it comes to installation.

Some other factors to take into consideration when planning your kitchen recessed lighting are figuring out where the lights are going to go. It is a good idea to map out the placement ahead of time, taking a close look at what type of function generally takes place in each area.

This will go a long way in determining what type of lighting you need for each area. For example, for ambient lighting is good for general purpose areas and task lighting is good where more focused actions take place, such as cooking. And as a rule of thumb, you should place one recessed light for every 4 to 6 square feet of ceiling space for an even effect.

Get Residual Income by Making Money Online Blogging

without comments

The reason the make money online niche is extremely competitive is fairly obvious and can be attributed to the fact that when people learn about search engine optimization they typically tend to stumble across the information when searching for the term, “making money online.”

The funny thing is that if those people spent their energy targeting alternate niches like cosmetic surgery, dieting and health and even saltwater aquarium keeping, they would be able to make money online at a much quicker pace then those that are struggling to make it to the top in more competitive niches… People that have made it to the top for a highly desired search term are regarded as experts and rightly so because of the extreme level of competition.

Some of the tools I use and would highly recommend although they will need to be purchased include: SEO Elite and Webcomp Analyzer

The “how to make money blogging” niche is extremely challenging to break into and receive a large amount of organic search traffic. Generating a large amount of “residual income” from this niche is doubtful to say the least. It is my recommendation to start with something a bit easier if you are hoping to make a living from internet marketing in the near future. At bare minimum I would recommend targeting a few other niches at the same time.

I’ve been scouring the internet for months trying to figure out the elusive answer to the only question worth asking. Well maybe it’s not the only question worth answering but its definitely evading me quite ferociously. It’s the path to learning how to make money online that has become so difficult.

The bottom line is that you will have to make a solid business plan and commit a large amount of time and effort to Produce Real Results by Making Money Online Blogging.

The Bad Advice Of Other Smokers

without comments

Do you trust an addict? Have you ever had a friend who was addicted to one of life’s most troubling addictions, heroin or cocaine? Even if you haven’t, then I’m sure that you will have heard stories about how you should never trust a junkie or else be prepared to have things stolen from you.

Now, of course, smokers are not that desperate as we have already discussed. Cigarettes are just affordable and also widely available. But many smokers are fooled by their addiction and will give bad advice or show strange behaviour to fellow smokers, especially those who want to stop.

When you stop smoking (that’s “when”, not “if”!) after reading this book, and you tell your smoker friends that you have stopped, I guarantee you that at least one of them will offer you a cigarette.

They will offer you a cigarette and then jokingly pretend that they had forgotten that you had stopped smoking. This happened to myself several times after stopping and it will happen to you as well! It has nothing to do with people forgetting that you had stopped smoking (how could they forget such a major event) and everything to do with addiction affecting behaviour. When your friends offer you cigarettes, their addictive-bent emotions are telling them that they have lost a fellow “addict friend” and they want you to rejoin the club.

This is all on a subconscious level. Maybe you don’t believe me but, as I said, I guarantee that this will happen to you at least once.

Do not trust the quitting smoking advice of a smoker. Would you trust a skiing coach who could not even ski himself? Then why would you trust a smoker to advise you on the best way to quit? You can only trust someone who has stopped smoking to advise you on how to quit your addiction.

On the other hand, would you trust a former addict? Would you trust someone who used to be an addict but found a way out and looks like never going back to those dark days?

You have a choice – trust the addict and remain an addict for life or trust me and your addiction will become a thing of the past.

Profiting Online Simple Not Easy

without comments

One of the simplest and most overlooked aspects of online marketing is that it’s not complicated. More precisely, there are a lot of “experts” who try to make it complicated. Aside from whatever motivation they might have to do that online profits happen as the result of one simple equation –

Traffic + Conversion = Sales

– performed over & over again

There are MANY ways to get traffic (visitors) to your site and get them to take some action or “convert,” which will either result in more leads or (less frequently) result directly in more sales to your business.

So here’s the other simple rule — you only need to master 1 or 2 traffic methods and 1 or 2 conversion methods, and you will make money. You don’t need to master the entire kitchen to make a grilled cheese sandwich, and you don’t need to know EVERYTHING about internet marketing in order to add revenue to your business.

With that in mind, there are a few basic traffic techniques I’ve implemented in some of my sites and client sites that have universally and consistently WORKED. Here are a few of those methods — but remember, you only need to pick one or two:

Increasing Visitor Count

1) Twitter — highly effective for targeting your niche and developing the conversation with your customers and prospects. There really is nothing like it. However, most businesses don’t know how to use Twitter effectively. They spam with “sales tweets” — “Look at the cool new thing I’m selling.” The 80/20 rule is highly effective — 80% of your tweets should be about something interesting, funny or otherwise engaging… a question of the day like “What’s for lunch?”… anything to get people talking, laughing, thinking… Also, keep it consistent and be generous with re-tweets. A few tweets a day go a long way toward establishing a rabid list of followers. The wrong thing to do is to Tweet like a madman for a day or two and then disappear for a month. Or worse, don’t reply when someone direct messages you or @messages you. That’s like ignoring someone at a dinner party when they ask you to pass the gravy. You WON’T get any dessert.

2) Video marketing is a very fast way to rank your site and get lots of inbound traffic. Keep your videos consistent — don’t show up one day in a baseball cap and dark lighting, talking about the rain, and another day bouncing in a jungle gym screaming about business leads. Consistent message, consistent tone, consistent look & feel. Also, be sure to put a call to action in your video’s description, as well as the full URL of your website’s landing page, and use appropriate keywords.

3) Article marketing is an evergreen method for outstanding traffic generation, with one HUGE caveat — mix it up! Putting the same article on 400 article directories will get you nowhere fast. You will get a bump in traffic from all the inbound links until Google figures out they’re all the same article and basically count it as one link. There are content spinners out there that alter the content of your articles automatically, but you have to be very careful here as well. Most content spinners change a word or two to replace it with a synonym, or they mash up the article randomly so the output is basically junk that cannot be read. It has to pass human review. So if you’re looking for a quality content spinner, ideally you want to be able to change the entire sentence many times throughout the article, and then have it spin those into hundreds of different articles. That’s the professional way to do it. At the bottom of your article, have a call to action in the information field; a blurb about you (the author) and a link to a free guide the reader can pick up at your website.

Conversion

1) Keep it simple. The landing page has to do ONE thing — get people to ACT. For this reason, it’s been called a SINGLE ACTION PAGE. Pear it down to the bare essence of what you need the visitor to do. Consider placing a video on the page with a very simple message, “Hey thanks for stopping by for my free whizbang. Just type in your first name and e-mail address and I will rush it right over to you. In just a moment after you send your information, you’ll get an e-mail with a confirmation link. Click that link and I will instantly send your free whizbang.”

2) Direct, direct, direct. Notice the video script in #1 above — see how we instructed the user on exactly what they need to do? And then we told them what to expect next, and what they would then need to do. And we closed with a reminder of the benefit — the free whizbang.

If you have trademarked the term “whizbang,” then I apologize in advance. ;)

3) Test, test, test. ALWAYS have two versions of your landing page operating at one time. You can optimize your landing page using freely available Google tools in the Web Optimizer toolbox. You really can’t go on “gut” here — the data will be you every single time. Even on PPC ads, we have literally seen the addition of a question mark in the ad increase conversion by 16.8% So test, test, test.

Conclusion

These methods work on any business in any industry. Here is some social proof –

Local landscape designer increased her traffic by 7,342% (yes seven thousand percent)

  • Local artist went from three visitors a day to an average of 41 visitors a day
  •

  • International digital publisher had zero e-commerce and started converting 16% of all traffic to revenue within 72 hours of implementing one traffic strategy and one conversion strategy
  •

  • Changing a landing page to a simple design on an e-book site turned conversion from an anemic two sales per week to eight sales a day — on the same traffic.
  •

I hope this helps your business. The average business fails to do what it takes to drive traffic or achieve conversions to their website. While they exercise 20-30 traffic methods on average, they don’t do a single one effectively.  There are many sources online to learn about effective marketing strategies, including free resources and some almost-free, like the definitive guidebook  750 Traffic Generation Methods.

Do-it-for-you solutions are also available; experience guides the appropriate strategy for the website and market. The biggest challenge business owners face is knowing which strategy to implement. Experimentation can be very costly in terms of time and lost sales… The key is to find a reputable marketing firm that offers a full range of customized services as well as downloadable products and courses to assist every website owner at every budget level.

Are The Top Pro Golfers Any Good For Golf Swing Instructions?

without comments

If you’re looking for golf swing tips, that could seem like a daft question. You might think that of course the top performing golfers are great for golf swing instructions, because who wouldn’t want to play like Tiger Woods, right?

Wrong.

Yes, of course we do all aimn to play like him and the other champion golfers, but with all due respect, it seems to me that there two main reasons why Tiger Woods would probably not be particularly good as your teacher.

The first one is that he is not a teacher, he is a professional golf player. His job, how he makes his living, is to compete in golf tournaments. He does not make his living as an instructor, so he has probably not had much (if any) experience or training in how to teach beginners or amateur players. Less gifted players have difficulties and questions that the top players may never have needed to address.

Even if they do have some of the same problems, before every practice or tournament round that he plays, while a champion golfer goes through his hour long warm-up working though his bag of clubs, he will be watched. He will be watched by maybe his fitness instructor, maybe his psychologist, but absolutely he will be watched by his coach! It is the coach that is the teacher, not the player.

In fact most champion pros, and Woods is no exception, will have changed their swing and other major points of their game at some point in their career. When they did, you can bet they did not do it all by themselves. They did it under instruction from their coach.

The second reason why the pros may not be the best guide to follow, is that their strokes are tailored to their style of game and their own physique and muscular structure. There is a huge variety of different styles when it comes to the swing. The intended end result is exactly the same for all of them, but each player goes about it in the way that best suits them.

This is an important point, because your most effective golf swing will be the one that makes the most efficient use of the body you have. Although it may be useful to watch instructional DVDs giving various different approaches, in the end you will not receive your most effective golf swing instructions from copying another person, as their swing has been honed for their own individual body.

These two important points are good reasons why you if you want to improve your game with good golf swing instructions, seek golf swing tips from a teacher rather than a competing pro player.

What Is Botox Injections

without comments

As we age, the effects of time, gravity and stress begin to show on our faces and bodies. Skin begins to lose its elasticity, leading to facial lines and wrinkles. Some of the most common problem areas include the areas on the forehead, around the eyes and around the mouth. Botox is actually a bacterium-based toxin derived from Botulinum toxin type A. While it can be dangerous or fatal in a pure state, its use in Botox helps relax facial muscles and smooth lines.

During the non-surgical botox procedure, the substance Botulinum toxin Type A, not actual botulism, is injected under the skin into the layer of muscle beneath. Approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Botox has been deemed as a safe way to rid the skin of those bothersome frown lines between the eyes. In addition to smoothing out current lines and wrinkles, regular Botox Injections can also help prevent future facial lines.

The effects of Botox are rather temporary. After a period of around three to five months, the body’s muscles have created new acetylcholine receptors and regained their ability to again feel the signal from the nerve telling it to contract or expand. In order to keep the wrinkles from reappearing, one must have the procedure repeated on a regular basis, although this doesn’t guarantee that the wrinkles will ever disappear permanently.

The greatest advantage of Botox is that it is nonsurgical. Many treatments for aging skin require major surgeries and long recovery times. Botox treatments typically take less than an hour to complete, often requiring less than 10 minutes for the actual injection process. Additionally, patients begin to see noticeable improvements in just a few days time. In comparison, a facelift surgery may require months of recovery before the full effects become noticeable. However, you are advisable to seek for medical advices before taking out such treatment.
